Bikefaire on Bishop!

First off, welcome to the new blog site for Bike Friendly Oak Cliff! We are a group of cycling advocates that are promoting the creation of better bicycle facilities for Oak Cliff. Our first major effort to bring greater community awareness to bicycling was the highly successful Bicycle Racks for Businesses pledge drive, which netted over $1500! To celebrate this recent victory, we’ve created the “Bikefaire on Bishop!” event. This will take place on Sunday November 16th, from Noon to 4PM, and will include vendors selling new and used bicycles, accessories, tune-ups, clothiers, food vendors, and a bike rodeo for kids! We’re hoping for a great turnout, so be sure to bring the family, and bring your bikes!

  1. If you live outside Oak Cliff, you can take your bike on the DART red or blue lines to Union Station or 8th and Corinth.

From Union Station, pedal south over the Houston Street bridge, which turns into Zang, then take a right on 7th.

From 8th & Corinth, pedal west on 8th, which turns into Davis, then take a left on Bishop.

If you don’t have a bike, you can also take a 542 bus from the 8th & Corinth light rail stop to Davis & Bishop.

  2. I saw your ad in Craigslist. I wish I had heard about this sooner, I would have signed up as a vendor. Hope everything goes well with Bikefaire and your blog.

  3. You still can! As a matter of fact, we need more clothing vendors. Let us know.
