Sure it’s not even Halloween yet, but there’s no reason to not start putting my wish list together now. Let’s take a look at some of the items I’d like to be sporting by New Year’s Day:

The Pashley Poppy
Handmade British bicycles are pretty hard to beat, and now that the Oak Cliff Bicycle Company is the only dealer in the state carrying these, I’ve quickly added the Pashley Poppy to my list. They’re 3 speed, come in blue and pink, and are outfitted with beautiful cream tires.

Basil Prima Vista Panniers
The Dutch company, Basil, offers a pretty solid line of baskets and panniers in an assortment of styles and colors. The Prima Vista line looks simple, and elegant, and would go nicely with that new Poppy I’m clearing room for. They should easily fit my camera and lenses on one side, and an assortment of groceries on the other. Queen Bee out of Portland makes a great line of panniers as well, but they’re a little out of my range for now.

Nutcase “Drippy” Helmet
Since you’ve gotta wear a helmet ’round these parts, I’ve got my eye on Nutcase’s “Drippy”. Nutcase has several different styles, but this is probably the least busy.

Fast Boy Wooden Fenders
If for some reason, the Poppy doesn’t make it under the tree this year, I’d at least like to get a couple of these wooden fenders from Fast Boy Fenders. It’s never fun getting a stripe of mud kicked up the back of your clothes, so might as well alleviate that worry in style. Apparantly, there’s a manufacturer of these in Dallas. As soon as I find the builder, I’ll happily switch to my local source.

BEST BLACK Long Armwarmers from Etsy
I spotted these on Etsy , and thought that be the perfect accessory on those late December rides into work.

Bicycle Print Sweatshirt from Etsy
Another great find from Etsy here.

Penny Farthing with Hot Air Balloon Necklace from Etsy
Alright…it’s getting obvious that I should probably stay away from Etsy. At the very least, don’t type “bicycle” in the search field. This is the last great find I’m going to point out there, but there’s a ton more where these came from.

Photopol.us Messenger bag and recycle inner tube camera straps
This is more of a personal plug, since I co-run Photopol.us, but every gal should be sporting one of these hip messenger bags and camera straps.

There is a guy in Austin that builds a very similar bike by hand here in Texas, the Violet Crown……as long as we are wishing 🙂
