Reunion Arena’s Bike Racks Saved by BFOC!

For those of you who attended the Oak Cliff Earth Day, you probably noticed the poster we made up to promote raising funds for buying the bike racks at Reunion Arena. BFOC member, Zac Lytle, took note of the racks once the demolition team went onsite to begin dismantling the Arena in early April. After making a quick phone call to Council Woman Angel Hunt, negotations were made to allow BFOC to pull the racks for the scrap costs of the medal. We successfully raised the amount needed and set off to taking apart the racks:

One is set to be installed at the Kessler School in North Oak Cliff, and we just finished installing the second rack at the Historic Texas Theatre on Jefferson Boulevard this afternoon! Just in time for the Hunchback of Notre Dame show tomorrow:

Thanks to everyone in the community for helping us pull this off! We couldn’t have done it without you all. The racks have great new homes here in the Cliff.
