Observer article about “Bikos” making Oak Cliff into the new Austin

Jim Schutze wrote a great article about our efforts to bring community gardens, bicycling awareness, and more to North Oak Cliff. Our own, Mariana Griggs, is spotlighted as she bicycles around the OC discussing all of the work taking place by the community. The article hits the nail on the head when it comes to our approach…we’ve long been overlooked by City Hall, so the neighborhood has stood up and rolled their sleeves up to make change on our own. From the community gardens, mural projects, bicycle awareness, revival of old theatres, cleaning up Fort Worth Avenue, returning the streetcars, and beautifying medians, all of the work taking place has been from people simply getting out and organizing and making our piece of Dallas the most livable neighborhood we can.
