Free bicycle parking will be provided all 24 Fair days
Dallas – Residents and visitors are encouraged to ride their bicycles to the 2012 State Fair of Texas, Sept. 28 through Oct. 21 at Fair Park. Free, monitored bicycle parking will be provided on all 24 Fair days. Bicycle racks will be available for use on the wide parking lot sidewalks by Gates 5 and 6. Bicycles will not be allowed through State Fair ticket gates.
Bicycle riders must bring their own chains and locks and are encouraged to plan their route ahead of time and try to ride with friends or family. Riders are reminded to obey all signals and traffic laws when in the roadway and when crossing intersections from sidewalks. Dallas City Code also requires bicyclists to wear a helmet for head protection.
DART also provides a limited number of bicycle racks at its two light rail stations that service Fair Park: Fair Park Station on Parry Ave. and the Martin Luther King Station on MLK Jr. Blvd.

Too bad the State Fair of Texas could not provide true free secure valet parking as other cities REQUIRE at large events – So what do they really mean by “monitored”? – A video camera pointed in the general direction?
