Bike to Work Day is coming up quick – Friday May 17th! If you’ve been considering trying a bike commute to work, we’re here for you!
We’re changing things up a bit this year. To encourage more of you to take the plunge and try your commute by bike, we’re hosting a planning party at Oak Cliff Brewing Co, located at the Tyler Station DART train stop. Commuting by bike can be a big leap: You’ll want to find good side streets, not your typical driving route, preferably side streets with the fewest hills. Then there’s what to wear and what to bring. It doesn’t have to be complicated. But if you’re a planner like me there are a handful of questions to think through before taking the leap.
If you already commute by bike, come share your route, tips, and tricks with newbies – and have a beer on BFOC! We need all your insights. A few of us on the BFOC Board will be there to advise from our own experience commuting all over town, but we’d love to hear all your insights you’ve collected over the years biking from OC to the greater DFW.

Just in case none of us are familiar with your particular route needs, we’ll have the best route planning apps on hand to advise on routes none of us are familiar with. We’re doing this a week ahead so you’ll even have a weekend to do a test ride before the 17th! It doesn’t get much easier.
If you’re riding DART to work, we’ll see you back at the Tyler Station DART rail stop Friday morning May 17th with snacks, drinks, and maybe even a mariachi band….. Happy bike commuting!
