We’re 5 days out from Cyclesomatic, and getting all of the last minute details wrapped up. For a quick preview of the first three day’s festivities, we have the following:
Day 1: Friday October 2nd, 75208 Presents October 2nd Friday Night Ride to Texas Theatre
Group ride leaving from downtown at 8:30PM, making its way to the Texas Theatre. BFOC member Colin Clarke, who also heads 75208 and the most recent Critical Mass Ride, will be leading the group from Downtown to Jefferson Boulevard. Bring your lights! Preview of the film can be seen here. The ride is free, and the film is $8 w/o bike, $5 if you pedal in.
Day 2: Saturday October 3rd. 2:30PM “Hellhound on My Trail History Group Ride” and 7PM “Beer Wars”
In the afternoon, we’ll lead a group on a history tour of the art and music scene of Dallas starting in Dealey Plaza. If you’ve been on our Bonnie and Clyde, or Lee Harvey Oswald tour, you’ll know it’s always a fun trip with loads of insight into our city’s past.
Later that evening (7PM), Eno’s Tavern & New Belgium Brewing presents the film “Beer Wars” at the Texas Theatre. The documentary focuses on the battles between America’s small breweries and the larger corporate behemoths. New Belgium is featured at length in the movie, and before and afterward, we’ll have samples of local beers on hand, so come thirsty!
Photopol.us, Dallas photo blog, presents a bicycle photo scavenger hunt. The winner will receive an award during the Oktoberfest event, being held by Eno’s Tavern, in the Bishop Arts District.
