This isn’t necessarily a bike specific event, though I’d recommend pedaling to this grand opening as opposed to driving as the management told me they’ve already had 600 people RSVP and parking is hard to come by. It’s a new restaurant called SMOKE, beside the Belmont Hotel (where we hold our Bike-In Movies), and they […]

ATTENTION ARTISTS AND BICYCLISTS: CALL FOR ENTRIES for ART BIKES! On October 10, 2009, The Cube Creative is sponsoring an Art Bike & Ride from 5pm to 9pm as part of the celebrated Tyler Street Block Party during the 10-day “CYCLESOMATIC” series of events. The Transit Bicycle Company is launching its grand opening this Sunday, September 13th from noon to sunset. TBC is billing itself as Dallas’ premiere fixed gear bike shop, and is planning a full day of events from an alley cat race, track stand competitions, group ride, and more. Should be a lot of fun.

DFW Point-to-Point provides an insightful post from a Vehicular Cyclist’s perspective on to how to best navigate in and out of intersections with bicycle lanes here. Our friend, Brandon Oldenburg, was one of the artists who created this piece and happens to be an awesome creative head over at ReelFX. I don’t want to jump to […]

My wife just got a job at SMU, and was able to nab a coveted (by me) DART pass for a discounted rate. With that in mind, we’ve had several friends who I envy that have officially gone car free, and wanted to do the breakdown to see how much we’d save by also making […]

The film profiles the struggle of the small brewing company against the large commercial industry in the US. There will be free beer samples onsite, and a […]

We mentioned the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recent endorsement of bicycle lanes to curb obesity trends along with the Secretary of the Department of Transportation, Ray LaHood, citing Portland as THE model for 21st century US city planning, and it now appears more organizations are coming online in support each month. The […]
